Cruise is a one year old Persian mix. He is still a very playful kitten and would do best with younger, like minded cats. He is very comfortable around dogs. He hasn’t been around small children very much so is still a little unsure of them. Cruise has highly concentrated urine so requires a urinary specific diet. Cruise can be viewed at the Bosleys location in PG
Adoption fee: $150
Jagger is a five year old, male Boxer cross. He doesn’t make friends easily so needs slow introductions (this goes for dogs and humans). He does love kids however!! Jagger is now doing well with all the dogs we currently have at the rescue and has successfully met many new humans! Although he still barks at new people, he is not aggressive and is becoming more and more social every day! Once you get to know this guy you discover he is very loyal, with a ton of personality. With continued socialization we anticipate his true personality will continue to emerge. Unfortunately he has also come into us with some health issues. Jagger has now been diagnosed with “water diabetes” and will require a daily pill to keep it under control. (in layman’s terms, his brain is telling him he is constantly thirsty so he drinks alot of water and urinates alot as a result). The medication is less than $35 per month. Due to his constant desire to drink water, his water intake must be controlled if he is expected to be an indoor dog otherwise he won’t be able to control his urination. Jagger can also function fine outdoors but would need an extra warm set up for winter months.
Jagger’s adoption fee is “by donation”
Jax is a five year old, male, Shih Tzu, Poodle cross. He came into PGARS over a year ago and we found him a wonderful home but unfortunately he had to be returned due to aggression towards the adult male in the family. The family that had him loved him very much but after his owner came back from the hospital Jax became even more possessive of her to the point of biting. Jax has experienced some abuse in his past and can become very attached and very protective of certain people. This is Jax’s last chance at avoiding euthanasia. He must go to a home without young children or other pets. (yes, he is currently living with us at the rescue that has children and many other dogs and cats, but obviously this is not an ideal long term situation for him) He is a sweet, cuddly, energetic boy but he needs a knowledgeable home that can be loving but still firm with him.
Adoption fee: “By donation”
**Jax comes with 3, 1 hour sessions of personal training with Kirby from Pawsitive Horizons!!!!

One year old, male (Chesapeake Bay Retriever crossed with unknown).
Archie still needs alot of work and further assessment before he will be available for adoption. We have discovered he has some aggression towards men and is needing work on his social skill with other dogs (always lived on a chain). He loves children and women. Not good with livestock or cats.
Adoption fee: NOT YET AVAILABLE.
Tiny is an eight month old, female, Jack Russell/Scottish Terrier. She loves people, especially seniors and children. She is very high energy so needs to go to an active, experienced home. The picture was taken during a rare moment of her staying still, lol. Tiny can be quite dominant with other dogs and has no problem going after the biggest of dogs if she feels threatened. Although she is good with cats she would do best with a younger cat that would tolerate her playfulness. Tiny would excel at agility as she is crazy fast and super smart.
Adoption fee: $300
*TINY IS CURRENTLY IN THE SIX WEEK OBEDIENCE/BEHAVIOUR PROGRAM AT ST. PATRICK’S HOUSE. SHE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONCE SHE COMPLETED THE PROGRAM. If you are interested in meeting Tiny in the meantime, please contact Kirby from Pawsitive Horizons as she oversees this particular program 403-819-6247
Static is a 1-2 year old, male Guinea Pig. He’s a bit timid but still friendly!
Chaps is a 1-2 year old, male Guinea Pig. He is friendly and social.
Kiwi is a 4 year old, female Pug/Boxer. She came from a home with six children and was well loved by them. She is a complicated girl though and is particular about the people and other dogs she likes. Kiwi loves to give kisses and loves to be cuddled. She would not be suitable in a home with horses as she loves to chase them (that is why she is currently in a foster home and not out at PGARS with us). Kiwi has a mild heart murmur (no meds required) and needs her dew claws trimmed regularly so they don’t grow into her leg.
