Do you have a passion for animals?

Have a passion for animals and a bit of spare time? Prince George Animal Rescue would love to have you out! First you need to start with an orientation. Orientations take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. We usually have them on alternating Sundays. Times and dates will be posted on the website. ***You must contact us to book your orientation and it is always a good idea to confirm the day before in case things change. Other orientation dates can be arranged if weekends don’t work for you.

Your orientation will consist of a tour through our facility. You will meet all of the animals and get a brief history on each one. We recommend coming in clothes and footwear that can get dirty. Dogs jump up, horses slobber, and the ground can be muddy. After your orientation you can call, text or email to set up another time that works for everyone for your next visit. Volunteer times/days vary.

Volunteer Orientation

The next volunteer orientation is:

March 17 @ 11:30

*Please double check the website the day prior to make sure the orientation is still happening.

What does volunteering entail?

Most volunteers will help do some daily chores around the farm like cleaning/filling water troughs or mucking out the occasional stall or shelter. The dog and cat buildings usually house several animals and also require regular cleaning. Dogs need to go for walks. Cats need cuddles. Horses need grooming and exercise too. Long time volunteers with riding experience may be able to ride suitable horses.

Although there is no age requirement for volunteers, we ask that anyone under the age of twelve have an adult accompany them. There will always be someone on site to answer questions or in case of an emergency, but many times we are busy working with the animals and doing chores. It is important that our volunteers are able to work somewhat independently. We will make sure you are comfortable with everything first!
